Afghan Female Judges Increased from 0 to 260

“The Afghan Women Judges Association (AWJA) said on Tuesday that the number of female judges has remarkably increased in the past decade.

Shakila Abawi Shagarf, head of the Afghan Women Judges’ Association (AWJA), said that at the moment 260 female judge are working in Afghanistan.

According to Shagaf the number of female judges increased from zero in Taliban regime time to 260 in the current year.

Among the 260 female judges, 225 are working in capital Kabul, 21 in Herat province, 11 in Balkh province, two in Takhar province and one in Baghlan province.”
